New osteopathic treatment option in Bensalem

Posted

St. Mary Medical Center now offers Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) at St. Mary Family Medicine Bensalem, located at 3331 Street Road, Two Greenwood, Suite 140, Bensalem.

OMT is a set of hands-on techniques used by osteopathic physicians to diagnose, treat and prevent illness or injury. During OMT, a physician moves muscles and joints using techniques that include stretching, gentle pressure and resistance. The treatment can help people of all ages and backgrounds ease pain, promote healing and increase overall mobility.

OMT is administered at St. Mary Family Medicine Bensalem by Dr. Charmaine Chan who serves as the director of osteopathic education at St. Mary Medical Center and Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia. Chan received her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her Family Medicine residency at St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading. She is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine.

To set up an OMT appointment with Chan or to learn more about the treatment, call 215-245-8873.
