New Hope’s Kuczura commits to Bucknell

Michael John Kuczura has committed to play soccer at Bucknell University.

Kuczura plays for Player’s Development Academy (PDA) in New Jersey and is on the United States Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) team. PDA houses a few levels of teams that play in a variety of leagues. USSDA team is the highest level in the U.S. at this time. The rule of the USSDA is that the players are not permitted to play for their high school unless they receive a scholarship for soccer. Kuczura has played academy level for six years.

Prior to joining the USSDA, Kuczura was selected for the Olympic Development Program (ODP) for two years and represented Region 1 ODP in 2014. He traveled to Arizona for the inter-regional games and Italy for the Torneo International while representing ODP Region 1. MJ also played in Scotland in April 2014 and went back this past summer and trained with Dunfermline and the Fife Academy youth pro teams in 2017. He has been a USSDA player since 2011 with FC Delco and now plays for PDA under the direction of Sam Nellins.

Kuczura had the honor of being selected as captain this year.

Kuczura looks forward to continuing his academic and soccer career under the direction of coach Brendan Nash at Bucknell University in the fall. Bucknell is in the Patriot League and is a Division I team.
