New Hope-Solebury junior wins silver at Shakespeare competition

New Hope-Solebury High School junior Anna Prager placed second at the 33rd annual Philadelphia Regional Shakespeare Competition.

In the nationwide competition led by the English-Speaking Union, Prager first competed against fellow high school classmates in which they memorized and performed a Shakespeare monologue and sonnet.

Led by theater teacher Melanie Pittner, Prager was chosen to move on to the regional level which was held at the Arden Theater in Philadelphia.

At this competition, Prager performed both her monologue and sonnet. After being selected as a regional finalist, Prager was next required to perform a cold reading from a selected list of monologues.

Prager received her medal and $1,000 scholarship check at a special reception in Philadelphia.
