New Hope-Solebury High School students recognized in National Merit competition

Ten New Hope-Solebury High School seniors were recently recognized in the National Merit Scholarship Competition.
Among those recognized, four were distinguished as semi-finalists, including Lucas Craig, Charlotte Scarlata, Amy Tao, and Linda Xu. These students scored among the top 2% of U.S. high school seniors on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) and will continue in the competition to earn one of the 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $30 million.
An additional six New Hope-Solebury seniors received National Merit commendations, including Maria D’Agostino, Ross Elliott, Thalia Graeff, Christopher Maguire, Jake Masino, and Alexandra Ren. Commended students are recognized for the exceptional academic promise demonstrated by their outstanding performance on the qualifying test used for program entry. These students scored among the top 6% of U.S. high school seniors on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
