In light of the novel coronavirus pandemic, New Hope Celebrates has rescheduled its Pride Celebration for Saturday, Oct. 10 – a date it hopes to be able to keep.
“Though we are a world apart today, just know that there is New Hope for tomorrow. There will be a time to come together and celebrate,” NHC said.
NHC said PrideFest may need to look different, taking into account public safety measures, social distancing, and the well-being of the community.
New Hope Celebrates said it would like to acknowledge the many health-care workers and first responders, as well as salute those working on the front lines providing essential services, and pause to celebrate the thousands of lives lost to the pandemic.
During this time of sheltering in safe spaces, NHC asks the community to try to support local businesses and service workers, as much as they are able.
“Every little bit helps, by ordering takeout/delivery, buying gift cards, shopping local online, and donating to area charities. You can be New Hope for someone in need of support,” the organization said.
