The New Hope Art League welcomes fine art photographer Dan Tarradellas as its featured presenter at its April 30 meeting.
The meeting will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, at St. Martin of Tours Church, School Classroom 104, 1 Riverstone Circle, New Hope. Meetings are free and open to the public.
Tarradellas works in photo encaustics. There are many variations of encaustic art, and he focuses mainly on embedding wax onto fine art photography prints and bringing them to life by accentuating the image with brush strokes and iron patterns. He will present his work and demonstrate his photo encaustic process.
Tarradellas approaches photography in a painterly way with the encaustic process as an essential aspect of interpretation. He is fascinated by the texture and the internal luminescence that fine art photos project when encased in wax, and the tangible process of creating these works allows him to expand his images physically and conceptually.
His subject matters are inspired by his travels, both locally and abroad. Tarradellas grew up in Argentina and later moved to the United States. To see more of his work, visit him online.
