elcomes artist Anne Kullaf as its featured presenter Tuesday, March 26.
The meeting will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Martin of Tours Church, school classroom 104, 1 Riverstone Circle, New Hope.
NHAL meetings are free and open to the public.
In “Never Leave Home Without Your Sketchbook,” Kullaf will present her ideas on why a sketchbook is such a valuable tool for working artists. The sketchbook is the best way to build your observation skills and learn how to interpret things simply and effectively.
Kullaf will demonstrate how to capture a nature study in watercolor by focusing on big shapes, getting the values right and not getting too distracted by details.
A plein air painter working in all media, Kullaf is a professional fine artist and instructor; her paintings utilize the principles of drawing from direct observation and using bold, expressive brushwork to capture the essence of the subjects she paints.
Kullaf is an artist member of the Salmagundi Club of New York, the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, and the Philadelphia Sketch Club. She also organizes and leads plein air sketchbook workshops in France, Italy, Canada and across the U.S. For information, visit her online.
