New Hope and Solebury residents urged to take survey

The board of trustees of The Free Library of New Hope & Solebury urges Solebury Township residents to complete a survey about library usage and future funding. The brief survey, fielded by the township, is available its website at

Deadline for completing the survey is Wednesday, Dec. 18.

“The Free Library is a great asset to our community, offering programs for all ages, digital resources, events and, of course, a wonderful collection of books,” says Ron Cronise, president of the board of trustees. “We thank the Solebury supervisors for this opportunity to put forth our request for additional funding to cover our day-to-day operating expenses to the Solebury community at large.” Currently, The Free Library must raise more than $80,000 a year to stay open.

“We constantly strive to meet the needs of our community with relevant services and programs and look forward to residents’ feedback on this important matter,” says Connie Hillman, library director.

As part of its commitment to improve services for the community, the library introduced “curbside pickup” last summer. This allows patrons to call ahead and pick up books and other materials on hold without parking from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.
