The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) Greater Philadelphia Section invites members and guests to attend its annual Closing Luncheon and installation of officers for 2019-2020 at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, at Tallamore Country Club, 723 Tallamore Drive, Ambler.
Following lunch, the featured program will be Trish Chambers, in period costume, who will give a historical presentation about the Civil War’s little-known story of female soldiers and spies and their exploits during this dark era of American history.
Their ingenuity, and society’s perception of their traditional roles at that time, allowed them to perform successfully throughput the duration of the war. Their will to survive the war and create a future for themselves and their families, drove them into a new world for women.
