NBA Welcome Day street fair rescheduled

Posted
The 19th annual NBA Newtown Welcome Day, the “Street Fair with Flair,” canceled on May 5 due to heavy rains and severe weather warnings, has been rescheduled for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 30, on Sycamore Street in Newtown.

The one-day event, hosted by the Newtown Business Association, draws 8,000-10,000 people annually.

The street will be filled with businesses showcasing their products and services, giving away promotional items and engaging in friendly family games and activities, including inflatables, as well as food vendors with local restaurant tastes, and the Rising Star singing competition.

Intertwined with the businesses’ booths will be many of the region’s artists and crafters, showcasing and selling their hand-made specialties.

Many retailers and restaurants on Sycamore Street will also celebrate in the festivities with promotions and curb-side discounts. After checking out the vendors along the street, one can walk over to State Street to the shops and any sidewalk sales.

Full details are at NewtownBA.org. Check the NBA Welcome Day Facebook page for updated information.
