Nature on display in Pointed Perspectives

Posted

Each Saturday and Sunday in June from 1 to 5 p.m., the Stover Mill Gallery, 852 River Road, Erwinna, will host the artists Cindi Sathra and Jenny Boccardo for their joint show “Pointed Perspectives – A Study in Fiber and Photography.”

There will be an opening reception from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday June 4.

Both artists share a love of nature and wildlife, which can be seen in this show. They first met during a shared Art of the Barn show a few years back; this is their first gallery show together.

Sathra is a lifelong resident of Bucks County, and is an award-winning, published photographer. Photographing nature and wildlife has always been her passion.

Her art is permanently displayed at the Tinicum Conservancy in Erwinna. Her work has been part of the Phillips Mill Photography Show, Art of the Barn and many more. Her art has been on magazine covers and used by National Wildlife Federation and Cornell Lab of Ornithology.

Boccardo began exploring textile arts as a child, learning traditional “womanly art forms” from her mother and grandmothers. She discovered wool needle felt in 2014. A lifelong naturalist, she uses a vast array of wool types, colors, and textures to paint the wild landscapes and wildlife she loves.

She has shown her work in numerous juried, collaborative, and solo shows. She has the honor of being one of the few textile artists to hang at the prestigious Phillips’ Mill Juried Art Show.
