Shoot Your Shot: Let’s put it into perspective

Posted

If you struggle with perspective when shooting things like candles, artwork, or architecture, this tip is going to change your life.
Open your phone’s camera settings and toggle the grid on.
Yep, that’s it.
This one small change will make your pictures infinitely better.
The grid divides your screen into 9 equal parts, which help:
- keep straight lines straight

- keep subjects like those candles, artwork, or architecture from looking wonky
- create a balanced photo using the rule of thirds; for example, when shooting a landscape, line the sky up in the top row of the grid, the ground in the bottom row, and the horizon in the middle row
Try it and see.
To do it you need to go to Settings > Camera and toggle “Grid” to On (Green). Now when you open your camera you should see a grid overlaying the frame.
