Music Mountain Theatre hosts drive-in movies

Posted
Music Mountain Theatre will use its parking lot for a “Park-in Movie” event series from Friday, June 19 through Saturday, Aug. 8.

The film “Harriet,” the story of Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad will open the series. A portion of the proceeds from this weekend will be donated to the American Civil Liberties Union.
Movies will continue for eight weeks on Fridays and Saturdays, featuring a variety of family friendly movies.

The lot will open at 8 p.m. Admission will be $25 per car and limited to the first 24 to purchase a spot per event. Concessions will be available, as will restrooms.

“We are following recommendations of health experts and government officials so movie-goers will be asked to remain in their cars during the event,” MMT said. “Should anyone need to exit their vehicles for any reason, a mask will need to be worn if within six feet of others. All cars will be socially distanced as per New Jersey State Executive Order 142 and we will have parking attendants to facilitate parking.”

Movie sound will be available via an FM frequency that can be run off a car radio. “If your car battery will not allow your radio to stay on for the duration of the movie, we recommend bringing a battery-powered FM radio to use in your vehicle. There are also several FM radio apps that you can download for your smartphone that can work with your favorite battery-powered speaker.”
