MLK summit slated for teens

The seventh annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Bucks and Montco Teen Peace and Social Justice Summit will take place from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19 (snow date: Jan. 26) at Bensalem High School 4319 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem.

The event is suggested for 9th through 12th graders and mature 7th and 8th graders.

There will be meaningful and courageous conversations on race, prejudice and intolerance, with discussion after viewing the film, “Walking While Black: L.O.V.E. is the Answer,” presented by the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office. The film by director A.J. Ali shines a light on the importance of reconciliation and healing between police and other members of the community.

A pizza dinner will be provided. Schools, faith-based and other community organizations, and the public are all welcome.
