Central Bucks High School East held its annual Mini-THON April 5 and its participants raised the largest amount ever by the school with a total of $62,509.78.
The event is entirely student-led and run, with the goal of raising money as well as awareness for the Four Diamonds Organization. The organization’s mission is to conquer childhood cancer by assisting children and their families through superior care, comprehensive support and innovative research.
Mini-THON is an official part of Penn State’s Dance Marathon (THON). THON is the largest student-run philanthropy organization in the world, with all proceeds going to help fight pediatric cancer at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
Central Bucks East’s Mini-THON culminates with a six-hour event that includes dancing and survivor testimonials. This year’s event included Roxy Therapy dogs, a variety of athletic competitions, and a memorial/meditation room for participants.
