Middletown Grange Fair adds new events, acts to lineup

The 71st annual Middletown Grange Fair will be held in Wrightstown from Aug. 14 to 18.

The event will see close to 65,000 patrons over five days on Penns Park Road, just north of Newtown.

This year’s all-volunteer event features new events daily, including educational wildlife programs from Jungle Joe, five tractor parades, craft demonstrations and activities, as well as continual entertainment acts throughout each day. New nighttime entertainment acts include Famous Rumors, Big Chill, Jake’s Rockin’ Country Band, and the Buzzer Band. The Borderline Bluegrass Band will also appear this year for daytime music on Sunday. Skelly’s Amusements return for its 63rd year with the fair.

Bucks County’s favorite contests also return to the fair; this year’s special baking contests are pecan pie and apple cake. New categories include Kombucha in the wine and beer division, Fairy Gardens (in the floral department), Spotted Lanternfly (in the photography department), and Digital Art (in the artwork department).

The Bucks County 4-H will also host its annual County Roundup at the fair, featuring youth projects from all over the county and a new 4-H reptile show.

All schedules of events and exhibition information are available on the official Middletown Grange Fair website,
