Michener Museum gives first in-person tour to seniors

Posted

Last week, a small group of residents from The Watermark at Logan Square, a retirement and care community located in Philadelphia, took the first in-person tour offered by the Michener Art Museum in over a year. The tour took them past some familiar faces, as their community is represented in a current Michener photography exhibit called “Essential Work 2020.”
Anna Kurtz, community life director at The Watermark at Logan Square, submitted a photo for the exhibit and accompanied residents to see her art on display. Her image shows many of her work associates helping a resident mark his 94th birthday at the height of the pandemic.
Those residents who took the Michener tour expressed their gratitude for essential workers at The Watermark who spent the past year caring for their physical, social and emotional health.
