MBIT hosts annual open house

Middle Bucks Institute of Technology, located at 2740 York Road, Jamison, is hosting its annual Open House for middle school and high school students 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21.

There will be three informational sessions conducted by school counselors for prospective students and their parents; the first will be held prior to the event at 5 p.m., the second at 6 p.m. and the last at 7 p.m.

The school serves students in grades 10 to 12 from the Centennial, Central Bucks, Council Rock, and New Hope-Solebury school districts.

Middle Bucks Institute of Technology’s rigorous and relevant career and technical education programs prepare high school students for a wide range of high-wage, high-skill and high-demand careers. The 22 educational programs at MBIT are organized into five career pathways, which include Arts and Communication, Business and Information Technology, Engineering and Industry Technology, Human Services, and Health and Science. All career programs are geared towards preparing students to meet the growing needs of in demand occupations in Pennsylvania.

The students benefit from having the ability to get a head start on their career through hands-on relevant training that leads to industry certifications and post-secondary credits.

Student-led demonstrations in program areas will be the main focus of the evening. In the main lobby, visitors will find a listing of each program’s activities, along with a map of the school so they can explore all of our lab areas. Visitors will have opportunities to speak with faculty, staff and students as well as to gather valuable career information.
