“Matilda’” opens four-weekend run at Music Mountain Theatre

Posted

Music Mountain Theatre will continue its 2021 Summer Season with “Matilda,” premiering July 23.
The show will run for four weekends at 1483 Route 179, Lambertville, N.J., with performances ending on Aug. 15.
Matilda is an extraordinary 5-year-old with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind whose talents are constantly belittled by her cruel parents and headmistress. Dreaming of a better life for herself, she dares to take a stand against these oppressive forces, takes her destiny into her own hands, and helps her favorite teacher reclaim her life.
The role of Matilda will be shared by Giana Griffiths and Lucy Spiegel with each performing at different shows.

Giana, of New Hope, feels honored to play the role. Her favorite past roles at MMT include “A Christmas Carol,” her first MainStage production, and “Annie.”
Lucy Spiegel, of Doylestown, is thankful for the chance to play one of her “dream roles.” Lucy spent time during the past year participating in virtual events and classes.
Show times are Friday and Saturdays at 8 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays at 3 p.m. Patrons who are fully vaccinated are now permitted in the theater without a mask. For information and tickets, visit musicmountaintheatre.org or call 609-397-3337.
