West Amwell Township, N.J.: Marie Gaynor Cook, 88, died peacefully, Tuesday, April 26 at her son Michael’s home.

Born and raised in Lambertville, N.J., Marie had lived in West Amwell Township for the past five years. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Lambertville and had worked as a home health aide. An avid gardener, lover of birds and talented oil paint artist Marie was extremely fond of her cat Chloe.

Daughter of the late Thomas W. Gaynor and Melitta Bohr Gaynor, widow of Donald B. Cook, mother of the late Eugene “Herbie” Haldeman and mother-in-law of Alice Haldeman, she is survived by her son Michael K. Haldeman, her daughter Tammy M. Haldeman and her husband James E. Lawrence, three grandchildren, James Lelie, Brittany Waldrop and her husband Jeremy, Melissa Merkel and her great-granddaughter Everly Alice Waldrop, and other extended family members.

Visitation and a memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be announced at a later date.
