The death of a man found frozen in a pool in New Hope has been ruled accidental, the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office said Wednesday.
New Hope Borough Police officers and Bucks County Detectives who responded Tuesday afternoon to 10 West Ferry St. found the body of Jose Quiroz Marcial in the rear of a business in a construction area. His body was submerged in ice in an uncovered in-ground pool.
The 29-year-old was reported missing from his home in Lambertville, N.J., in mid-December after he did not appear for work. He was last seen Dec. 15.
Members of the New Hope Eagle Fire Company assisted the Bucks County Coroner’s Office in extracting Marcial’s body from the ice and removing it from the pool. Following an autopsy, Marcial’s death was determined to be the result of an accidental drowning and hypothermia.
