Make Music Philly, part of Make Music Day, takes place online Sunday

Posted
Make Music Philly will join over 85 U.S. cities across the U.S. and 120 countries worldwide to celebrate Make Music Day from noon to 6 p.m. this Sunday June 21.

Make Music Philly is part of Make Music Day, the worldwide music celebration held each year on June 21, which is typically the summer solstice and the longest day of the year.

Due to the coronavirus, most activities will be virtual this year; however in normal times Make Music Day features free outdoor concerts, performances, music lessons jam sessions and other musical events on streets, sidewalks, parks and other public spaces.

LIVE-streamed musical performances by a dozen local musicians will be on the Make Music Philly Facebook page from noon to 6 p.m. at facebook.com/MakeMusicPhilly and simulcast on the Delco Quarantine Open Mic Facebook group page.

Musicians can visit MakeMusicPhilly.org to register their in-person or virtual Make Music Philly events. A full schedule of Make Music Philly events will be displayed on the Make Music Philly Facebook page and MakeMusicPhilly.org listings page early this week.
