Loudon Wainwright III brings one-man show to Bristol

Posted

Bristol Riverside Theatre, 120 Radcliffe St., Bristol, welcomes Grammy Award-winner Loudon Wainwright III for its One Night Stand Series.

Wainwright brings his solo show, “Surviving Twin,” a “posthumous collaboration” with his writer father, to the theater for one-night only, at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30. Tickets cost $45 at brtstage.org or 215-785-0100.

“Surviving Twin” combines Wainwright’s songs and the writings of his late father. Initially developed as part of the University of North Carolina’s Playmakers series, it focuses on fatherhood – both being a father and having one – and also explores the issues of birth, self-identity, loss, mortality, fashion, and of course, pet ownership.

“Surviving Twin” has been performed in limited theater engagements and was a Netflix special, produced by Judd Apatow and directed by Christopher Guest.
