Longtime Doylestown Bookshop bookseller promoted to store manager

Posted

Longtime Doylestown Bookshop Bookseller Peter Matyskiela has been promoted to store manager.

He has been with the Doylestown Bookshop for almost a decade as a bookseller, supervisor, and now store manager.

When looking to fill the position, owner Glenda Childs had hoped to fill the position internally and was delighted when Matyskiela stepped up to the challenge.

“The Doylestown Bookshop has always been a home away from home for me. I loved reading from a very young age and am constantly surrounded by books. I have very eclectic tastes, from literature to graphic novels to philosophy; I’ll read almost anything, but in general, the weirder, the better.

“The thing I love about books the most is the way they can open your mind to new ideas and ways of thinking. Every book you read changes and expands your reality, and to be able to work in a place where I can help people find ways to expand their world is a dream come true.”

Matyskiela is also an experimental musician, under the moniker Flower Giant, creating abstract soundscapes, folk, and electronic. His music is streaming everywhere. Follow his Bandcamp at: lowergianttreedeer.bandcamp.com.
