Local designers create custom furnishings for Habitat auction

Posted
Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County will hold a “Designer Challenge” during its annual Hard Hat & High Heels fundraising gala on May 3, featuring eight local designers.

The Designer Challenge is an exclusive, one-of-a-kind auction featuring unique furnishings created by professional interior designers, decorators, furniture makers, artists and craftsmen who upcycle gently used furniture provided by the Habitat Bucks ReStores.

The eight designers upcycling items for the 2019 silent auction include: Lisa Bowman, owner, The Rabbit Hole Vintage Marketplace (Langhorne); Kristal Fascella, Owner, Bella Interiors (Lansdale); Courtney Klinger, Interior Designer, DAS Architects (Perkasie); Jennifer Laurens, owner, Tiny Anchor Studios (Lansdale); Tracy Miller, owner, Vintage Funk (Hulmeville); Melanie Oberto, owner, Melanie’s Creative Transformations (Levittown); Tarah Sutter, Tarah Jones Design (Coopersburg); Lynne Templeton, owner, Renewal Studio (Wayne).

“Hard Hats & High Heels” takes place from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Friday, May 3, at Spring Mill Manor in Ivyland. The event, which supports Habitat’s home ownership and home repair programs for local families, includes an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, a three-course dinner, and live and silent auctions.

Jeff Devlin of DIY network’s “Stone House Revival” and HGTV’s “Smart Home” will emcee the live auction. Guests can also “purchase” materials to help Habitat build, including foundations, doors and windows.

Guests can preview auction items online, and tickets may be purchased at Hatsnheels.givesmart.com.
