Foundations Community Partnership presented a $10,000 check to the Warrington Lions Club, Warrington Township Board of Supervisors, and township staff.
The donation will be used towards the campaign for the construction and maintenance of Lions Pride Park, which will begin construction this fall.
The donation was a Capital Improvement Grant that Foundations Community Partnership awards to nonprofit organizations that serve the youth in Bucks County.
These grants can be used for capital campaigns such as structural improvements, renovations, new buildings, additions to an existing building or additions of durable equipment.
Lions Pride Park was once the site of the Twin Oaks Day Camp and it will be converted into a state of the art, 17-acre recreational, educational and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant park for visitors of all ages and all abilities. The Warrington Township Lions Club is working to raise $1.2 million for this project. To date, over $1 milion has been raised for the park.
“Warrington Township is very excited to receive the support of Foundations Community Partnership and is looking forward to this project moving forward.” said Ruth Schemm vice chairperson of the board of supervisors. “Lions Pride Park will be a great addition to the Warrington Parks system and we can’t wait to see residents and visitors enjoy the park.”
