Lights for Liberty Candlelight Vigil in Doylestown

The Bucks County Women’s Advocacy Coalition is one of a number of co-hosts locally for an international candlelight vigil to shine a light on the inhumane treatment of migrants and refugees in human detention camps.

The event will take place in Doylestown 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. July 12, at State and Main Streets.

The vigil will include several short statements by a diverse group of immigrants and immigrant rights activists.

A pop up Rise Up Resistance Chorus will lead the crowd in several freedom songs. A group of children will read the names of those children who have died in the detention camps. Then all of the participants will light the candles for those of the children, passing the light throughout the crowd as it ends in singing together.
