Library books are not the biggest influencers

Generalized imitation. That must be it. That must be why parents are so worried about sex in literature. Actually, there is considerable evidence that media can influence imitative behavior. Research mass shootings.

Interviews with parents, friends, and experience with internet violence from teens suggests that they “got the idea” from published sources. But few, if any, library books are cited. And teens having sex in the library is rarely seen and even less often imitated. Viewing sex tends to be on the quiet.
