Lenape Middle School finds creative approach for “Singin’ in the Rain”

Posted

Lenape Middle School has found a way to present its spring musical, “Singin in the Rain,” safely.

The school’s theater director, in collaboration with Middle Bucks Institute of Technology and the director of the Theatre Arts Center in New Britain, turned the stage musical back into the classic film.
With scenes filmed all over Bucks County, including the classic “Good Morning” scene that was recorded in the living room of Oscar Hammerstein’s home, the film will be shown on two big screens, outside at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday May 21 and 22.

Jim Davey, a multimedia instructor at Middle Bucks, and recipient of several Emmys, had his classmates film the scenes.

So far, over 400 tickets have been sold. The film will premiere on the Lenape Middle School Athletic Fields; gates open at 7:30 p.m.
