In recognition of India’s Independence Day on Aug. 15, Kaira Rao and Riyana Parikh, both of Flemington, N.J., set up a lemonade and Indian food stand to celebrate and raise funds for Hunterdon Medical Center.
Over 40 friends and neighbors visited their stand and the girls donated $260 to the Hunterdon Healthcare Foundation. In addition, Riyana and her sister Aanya are now selling tie-dye masks, bandanas, and hair scrunchies to raise additional funds.
