Learn how to protect yourself from scams

Posted

Avoid becoming a victim of a scam by learning what to look for and how to report bad actors.

On Wednesday, June 7, from 2-4 p.m., state Sen. Steve Santarsiero will host an event with state Rep. Tina Davis at the Bristol Township Senior Center, 2501 Bath Road, Bristol, to help you protect yourself from scams and identity theft.

Offers that sound too good to be true, emails from family member “in trouble” and suspicious links from “your bank” asking for personal information are just a few of the scams that seem to pop up everywhere these days.

On June 7, hear from experts on how to avoid identity theft and popular scams, when to report them to the police, how and why to freeze your credit report, and tips for banking securely in the 21st century.

Scam Jam is a free event, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Banking.

To RSVP call Santarsiero’s office at 215-297-9490 or visit www.senatorstevesantarsiero.com/scam-jam.
