KidsBerry Academy day care opens in Yardley Borough

Posted

Yardley Borough welcomed a new business on Sunday, Aug. 21, when KidsBerry Academy Day Care held a grand opening celebration.

The business owned by Anastasia Plotnikova will rent space at the Knowles Doyle American Legion Post 317 on South Main Street, where the grand opening was held. The post hosted the Yardley Kids Academy for several years, before that day care recently relocated to a spot in neighboring Lower Makefield Township.

Plotnikova said she co-owned a Southampton day care business for several years with a partner before deciding to go it on her own and start KidsBerry Academy.

The business will serve children ages 1 to 5 with features including story time, yoga stretches and the Mother Goose learning curriculum. All teachers have masters’ degrees in Early Childhood Education and breakfast, lunch and a snack will be freshly prepared on site, Plotnikova said.

“We’re trying to offer the best quality of day care,” she said. “I’ve been walking around Yardley and the people here are so kind and friendly and happy. It’s an historic town and I like it.”

Knowles Doyle Vice Commander Candace Carver agreed the Legion post and KidsBerry Academy should be a great fit.

“Absolutely,” she said. “The community needs a day care in it, with all that’s been happening in the day care world, and we’re happy to have the opportunity to entertain this day care.”

Highlights at the Aug. 21 grand opening included tours of the facility, a petting zoo, face painting and balloon twisting. Among those attending the event were state Sen. Steve Santarsiero, Bucks County Commissioners Chairman Bob Harvie and Yardley Borough Council President Caroline Thompson.
