Kehilat HaNahar to hold High Holiday services

Beginning Sunday evening, Kehilat HaNahar, The Little Shul by the River in New Hope, will be holding services to mark the beginning of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.

Rooted in Jewish ancient and modern rituals and prayers and awakened by stirring melodies, members and guests will gather to uplift each other and build resilience as Jews all over the world begin the year 5783.

All services for the High Holidays, which include Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, beginning with Kol Nidre services on the evening of Oct. 4, will be led by Rabbi Diana Miller along with lay leaders and will include in-person participation (both indoor and outdoor) as well as Zoom access.

Sermons will be delivered by Miller, Rabbinic Intern Josh Nelson and congregant lay leaders.

The service schedule is as follows:

• Erev Rosh Hashana, 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25;

•Rosh Hashana Day 1, 9:30 a.m., followed by apples and honey and Tashlich, and Family Service (outside, weather permitting), 2 p.m. followed by another Tashlich, both Monday, Sept. 26;

• Rosh Hashana Day 2, 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27;

• Kol Nidre, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4;

•Yom Kippur, Wednesday, Oct. 5 – Services at 9:30 a.m., Yizkor (estimated) at 12:30 p.m., Family Service: 2 p.m., Mincha/Ma’ariv into Neilah at 5 p.m., weather permitting, outdoor potluck Break the Fast.
