Kehilat HaNahar celebrates Hanukkah

Posted

Members of Kehilat Hanahar, The Little Shul by the River, in New Hope, celebrated the last night of Hanukkah Dec. 5.
The Hanukkah Menorah has eight branches with candle-holders in a long line to represent the Hanukkah miracle, when the oil that was supposed to last only one day burned for eight days. The ninth (center) candle called the shamash (“helper” or “servant”) is used to light the other candles.
