Joshua J. Serkin

Joshua J. Serkin, of Philadelphia, died unexpectedly on Jan. 15, 2023 in Lake Worth, Palm Beach County, Fla.

Born on June 1, 1994, in Princeton, N.J., he was the son of Dawn (Joseph) Serkin and the late Jon Serkin.

After moving to New Hope, Pa., Joshua attended the New Hope-Solebury Elementary and Middle Schools and graduated from the New Hope-Solebury High School in 2014.

During high school, Joshua was a member of the Junior Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance and Rescue Squad that provides emergency medical services and marine rescues. Junior Members are trained to act as responders with the regular ambulance crews.

Living in New Hope, Joshua developed a love of trains while riding his BMX bike around town.

Joshua went on to attend college, working on a degree in graphic design at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Fla. Florida was a favorite place for Joshua, and he hoped to move there permanently one day.

He was employed by Penco Products in Bensalem as a manufacturing fabricator.

Joshua is survived by his mother, Dawn Serkin; an uncle, Robert Joseph (Diane); aunts, Sharon (Robert) Kowatch and Martha Woodall; cousins, Raymond Kowatch, Nicholas Joseph, Robert Joseph (Emma), Tim Joseph, Andrew Joseph (Brittany), Sara Kowatch and William Joseph; nieces, Fiona and Cora Joseph, as well as other members of the extended Joseph family.

His funeral service will be held at Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1680 Aquetong Road, New Hope, Pa., at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023. A short reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
