Joseph R. Ballantyne, 70, of Buckingham passed away peacefully on Aug. 11, 2022. Born 1952 in Meadville, Joe was a lifelong Pennsylvania native.
A devoted father, he is survived by his children Melissa and John. He was the cherished brother of Donald Ballantyne of Dover, Ohio, Catherine B. Alling of Bethlehem, Pa., and the late Robert and David Ballantyne. He was preceded in death by his father Robert and mother Jane. He was loved and adored by many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
As a graduate of Delaware Valley College, Class of ‘74, Joe used his food industry education to establish an accomplished career in CPG sales. He was an active member and frequent usher at Doylestown Presbyterian Church. As an assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 59, Joe helped many scouts achieve the rank of Eagle. Joe loved car rides with his Border Collie companion Angus and always looked forward to morning coffee with his friends at The Candlewyck. He was immensely proud of his children, both Penn State graduates, and considered them his pride and joy. Joe never turned down the opportunity to tailgate and attend PSU football games with them.
A memorial service will be held for Joe at a later date.
