Jesus Focus Ministry (JFM) Food Pantry at Bethanna feted and appreciated its large volunteer and donor network at Maggio’s in Southampton, Tuesday, March 26.
Each volunteer and donor was honored with a certificate of appreciation, a meal and a program highlighting the impact their volunteer service makes in the lives of food-insecure adults, children and seniors in Central Bucks County.
Monday through Friday, from 9 to 11:30 a.m., dedicated groups of volunteers sort and distribute on average 635 pounds of food per day, which has been donated by the local community. Jesus Focus Ministry (JFM) Food Pantry at Bethanna serves an average of 165 households and provides 12,712 pounds of food per month.
Having food for the week provides each guest the ability to be secure in knowing they don’t have to choose between putting food on the table and taking care of other life necessities.
Jesus Focus Ministry began its mission of Bible studies and food pantry support in 1986, becoming an affiliate organization of Bethanna in 2016, which enabled the ministry to expand to serve an increased number of families, seniors and individuals in need.
The Jesus Focus pantry is located on Bethanna’s 40-acre campus in Southampton. Volunteers offer each guest a warm smile, gentle encouragement and referrals to services as needed.
In Bucks County, there are approximately 32 food pantries and 65,000 residents who are food insecure, lacking access to affordable, nutritious food. Thirty-five percent of those are children; 14 percent are seniors; and 64 percent are adults working with at least one full-time job.

Bethanna is one of the largest Christian nonprofit organizations in the Delaware Valley. Bethanna provides both child welfare services and behavioral health care in Philadelphia, Southeastern and Central Pennsylvania.
