J.B. Kline Gallery shows the works of Jeanne Chesterton

Posted

Jeanne Chesterton is the featured artist for May at the J.B. Kline Gallery, 25 Bridge St., Lambertville, N.J.

The show runs from May 1 to 31. There will be an opening reception from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 6. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

“Classically Speaking” highlights the paintings for which the artist is recognized. Working in oil, Chesterton selects still life subjects that may range from the formal and delicate to the ordinary and worn.

For her, composition is important. According to Chesterton, the interplay of shapes, lines, color, texture and pattern should suggest a dialog among the objects, while manifesting visual harmony.

The artist has exhibited her paintings in over 200 local and regional shows, including Philllips’ Mill, Stover Mill, Philadelphia Sketch Club, and the Ellarslie Open at the Trenton City Museum. She has been recognized with awards, and her paintings have been purchased by many private collectors.
