Janine Dunn Wade has conversation with color at Hutton Galleries

Patricia Hutton Galleries will celebrate the opening of “In the Moment, A Conversation with Color,” a solo show for artist Janine Dunn Wade, with a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 1.

“Janine’s lovely alla prima floral paintings have been very popular at the gallery. They exude energy and vivacious color, which immediately draws our visitors directly to them upon entering,” said gallery owner Patricia Hutton.

Wade received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Villanova University and has also studied painting in Italy, Mexico and Paris, as well as at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. She has exhibited for many years throughout the region and has been awarded prizes by the Philadelphia Sketch Club and at Phillips’ Mill, where she took the Patron’s Prize for a floral oil painting.

“Color and free moving brush work are the elements that speak to my soul. When the moment is right, when the conversation is going well and when the stars align, color and brush stroke can come together with a synergy that creates the magic of a painting,” she said.

The exhibition will be on view through June 30, at Patricia Hutton Galleries, 47 W. State St., Doylestown.

“Janine has had a loyal following at the gallery since 2012,” said Hutton. “Collectors are looking forward to seeing her most recent work, which she describes as being looser and a bit more abstract.”
