Doylestown Township continues to celebrate its 200th birthday by putting together a time capsule that will be buried on the grounds of the new township building, 425 Wells Road, on Dec. 18, the board of supervisors said during its meeting Sept. 18.
Residents are being encouraged to submit items to be included in the time capsule, which will be opened in 2118, in time for the township’s 300th birthday.
Items will be collected from now until Oct. 15, and can be dropped off at the township offices, 425 Wells Road. Visit the townships website: doylestownpa.org for a list of acceptable and unacceptable items.
“We just want to keep the memories alive of 2018 and of the area,” said supervisors’ chairwoman Barbara N. Lyons. “The main thing is keeping the history.”
The next meeting of the supervisors will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2.
