Illustrators’ art on view at Hicks Art Center

Hicks Art Center Gallery at Bucks County Community College presents “Wonders Illustrated: A Survey of 12 Children’s and YA Book Illustrators,” June 1 to Aug. 4.

There will be an opening reception with refreshments from 4 to 7 p.m. June 3. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

A visiting artist lecture series will be held both in person and via Zoom throughout June. For details, visit the BCCC Calendar and Events page for June.

In addition, two in person, free workshops for 13- to 15-year-olds will be held on June 18 (Illustration) and June 25 (Creative Writing) from 10 a.m. to noon in the Hicks Art Center. To register, visit the BCCC Teens on Campus webpage.

Artists in the exhibition include: Honie Beam, Floyd Cooper, Sophie McTear, Charles Beyl, Penny Dasi, Andie Munroe, Alina Chau, Deb Hoeffner, Duncan Tonatiuh, David Curtis, E.B. Lewis and James Yang.

Along with original and reproduced illustrations from the artists’ books, digital animations, 3-D prints and original sketchbooks will be part of the exhibition. There will also be a seating area where visitors can peruse the books by the artists.

All exhibition programming is free and open to the public.
