Artist Kirby Fredendall and her husband, photographer Alex Damevski, will open their studios to the public over the weekend of May 21 and 22.

Fredendall’s new landscape paintings and Damevski’s new photographs will be on view at their studio located at 1448 Street Road, New Hope.

“More than striving to create the particulars of landscapes that inspire me, I paint to capture the timelessness of the elements of light, weather, and geometries that inform them,” said Fredendall, who was was raised in Carversville.

“My work is not about how the landscape looks as much as about how the landscape makes me feel. My goal is to create an image that allows the viewer to engage with it in such a way as to invite similar introspection.”

Damevski’s photos explore his fascination with often unnoticed moments that capture his eye – a lost object, a combination of colors, or a view from an unusual perspective. His work spans a range of subjects from still life to landscape, often exploring abstraction.

Born in 1960 in the former Yugoslavia, Damevski and his family immigrated to the United States in 1968.
