Hunterdon Huskies celebrating 50th anniversary this year

Posted

The Hunterdon Huskies are honoring their 50th year as an organization in 2021, and plans are underway to ensure the Huskies celebrate all season long.
“Established in 1971, the Hunterdon Huskies currently participate in the New Jersey American Youth Football (AYF) and American Youth Cheer (AYC) conference in the Jersey Shore division. The Huskies have won 13 national championships, 14 state titles and 31 conference championships. The Hunterdon Huskies D14 cheer team was the 2020 YCADA Globals Champion in their division. The 2021 AYF/AYC season kicks off on July 26 at Union Forge Field in High Bridge.
The Huskies Cheer Nation is preparing to give it their all this season.
According to Emma Alparone, cheer commissioner, “From ages 3 (minis) through 14 (competitive) we strive to instill a love for the sport and for being a great teammate. Lessons learned on the mat will benefit our athletes for years to come.”
The Huskies also field football teams in several age categories, from flag through 14 years of age.
“Coming off a successful and 100% healthy football season last year, we are looking forward to having an award winning program once again in 2021,” said Mark Charbonneau, football commissioner. “For our 2021 campaign, we are about to execute a plan that will not only celebrate our 50th year of excellence on and off the field, but also celebrate the great game of football. The trust our families from both our football and cheer programs have put in our organization gives the Husky staff the fuel to produce the next generations of leaders in our great state.”

The Hunterdon Huskies also field inspirational teams for both football and cheer, which is open to children and young adults of all ages with special needs. Registration is free for inspirational athletes.
Early registration is now open and a 50th anniversary Hunterdon Huskies throwback practice jersey for football and a 50th anniversary warm up jacket for cheer is being offered for a limited time.
