Hunterdon County Vocational School District students place in state SkillsUSA contests

New Jersey SkillsUSA contests recently took place over two months in 10 locations across the state, drawing hundreds of career-minded students eager to showcase the skills they have acquired in their high school programs.

Among those students were a cohort from Hunterdon County Vocational School District. They shined in their respective events.

The following HCVSD students placed:

• Katelyn Lucas, a senior in Commercial Arts and Advertising Design I, gold, Advertising Design; 

• Alexa Baldinger, a senior in 3D Computer Animation II, silver, 3D Visualization and Computer Animation;

• Brian Duval, a senior in 3D Computer Animation II, silver, 3D Visualization and Computer Animation;

• Ryan Gano, a senior in Graphic Design II, silver, NJ State Banner Design;

• Kate MacDonnell, a senior in Graphic Design II, silver, NJ State Banner Design;

• Joseph Pasquale, a freshman in the Computer Science and Applied Engineering Academy, silver, Mobile Robotics Technology;

• Garrett Stem, a freshman in the Computer Science and Applied Engineering Academy, silver, Mobile Robotics Technology;

• Ross Anderson, a senior in 3D Computer Animation II, bronze, 3D Visualization & Computer Animation;

• Julia Brock, a senior in 3D Computer Animation II, bronze, 3D Visualization and Computer Animation.

Lucas is among the top winners from more than 110 New Jersey contests who will now go on to compete nationally in Atlanta this summer.
