Hunterdon to distribute at-home COVID-19 test kits

Posted

Hunterdon County residents will be able to pick up free at-home COVID-19 test kits from 2 to 7 p.m. July 13 and July 20, at the County Complex (Building No. 1) on Route 12 in Raritan Township, N.J., as the county’s test facility on Reaville Avenue in Flemington, N.J., ends operations at 4 p.m. on June 30, County Commissioner Shaun C. Van Doren announced at the commissioners’ June 21 meeting.

No appointment is necessary to pick up the kits.

Van Doren pointed out that area pharmacies are also supplying tests, reporting, “The health department advises that there are numerous other opportunities still available for testing, including all CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreen pharmacies, as well as The Dr. Is In medical clinics in Flemington and Clinton, Bowkers Pharmacy in Milford and the Holland Center Pharmacy.

The commissioner added, “Our health team will keep a close eye on COVID-19 infections data and should there be a need to establish a clinic again, the department will be prepared to do so.”
