Holicong Park opens with fanfare in Buckingham Township

Posted

Buckingham Township celebrated the official opening of the Holicong Park expansion Oct. 13.

The original park contained 24.5 acres and was home to two multi-purpose sports fields, a small playground and a community garden. The 58-acre Holicong Park expansion brings the total acreage to 83.

The expansion includes six new multi-use soccer and lacrosse fields, two basketball courts, two tennis and pickle ball courts, over 2 miles of paved scenic trails and a half mile of grass trail, a new pavilion with lavatories, a new tot lot, natural meadow areas, picnic areas with benches, parking areas and a future connection to the Buckingham Green commercial area and Buckingham Village.

A grant from the Pennsylvania Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program helped pay for the expansion.
