History and Hauntings Getaway offered in New Hope

Posted

River House at Odette’s in New Hope, in partnership with Ghost Tours of New Hope, debuts a “History & Hauntings Getaway,” a limited-time package designed to immerse guests into the mystery and wonder of New Hope, often referred to as one of the most haunted towns in the United States.
Offering a special twist to the tours offered by Ghost Tours of New Hope, this curated experience is guided by Scott and Carolyn Randolph, beginning at River House at Odette’s, which played a direct role in George Washington’s famous Christmas Crossing.
From there, the one-hour tour continues into town by lantern light, chronicling New Hope’s early village days in the 1700s, its pivotal role during Revolutionary War and its time as a transportation hub alongside the Delaware Canal from the 1800s to early 1900s. Each moment in history unfolds mysterious and often eerie tales of spirits who continue to leave their mark.

For those who would rather enjoy New Hope’s chilling accounts from the comfort and luxury of the hotel, River House at Odette’s will also debut a Fire Side Ghost Tales Series at Odette’s Overlook, from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 20 and 27. The interactive evenings will feature an informal talk and Q&A with historian and Ghost Tour guide Scott Randolph.
Reservations for the History & Hauntings Getaway must be placed a week in advance at 215-682-2022 or on the River House New Hope website.
