Historical Society Impression-Sips BYOB painting parties are back

Posted

The Solebury Township Historical Society (STHS) announces the return of its popular Impression-Sips, a BYOB painting party.

Inspired by the works of the Pennsylvania impressionists, this season’s line-up is as follows: Sunday, Feb. 19, “Homestead at Night,” inspired by George Sotter; and Sunday, March 26, “Cottage with Red Roof,” inspired by Fern Coppedge.

Under the direction of local Solebury artists, Melody Hunt and Sandy Vallely, Impression-Sips raises funds for STHS and fosters a strong sense of community with lasting memories, including an original, priceless piece of art.

“Since its inception eight years ago, these painting parties have not only left me with a wall full of beautiful paintings, but have developed wonderful friendships, such as with local artist Martha Sperling, who has become a fabulous asset to the success of these parties,” Hunt said.

“All are welcome to attend, from novice to advanced artists. It’s a super fun atmosphere regardless of your skill level,” Vallely added,

Each session is $60 a person and takes place from 2 to 5 p.m. at the one-room Solebury schoolhouse. Appetizers, along with all art supplies, are provided for participants to create their masterpieces. Simply bring your creative energy, and if you choose, bring an adult beverage of your choice.
