Historic Flemington announces fifth annual Corn, Tomato and Beer Festival

Posted

The summer harvest meets the artisan district at Flemington’s Stangl Road, where the fifth annual Corn, Tomato and Beer Festival celebrates sweet Jersey tomatoes, heirloom corn, local craft beer, live music, and family activities from noon to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13.

Attended by thousands, the event offers farm-to-table cuisine and a homage to the state’s beloved corn and tomato dishes as prepared by local restaurants and farmers, plus a beer garden featuring 10 local New Jersey craft breweries.

“Lone Eagle Brewing is excited to build on past event successes by bringing even more New Jersey craft brewers to this year’s festival. We love supporting our local craft brewers and serving beer made from local ingredients,” said Bob King, owner of Lone Eagle Brewing and a member of the Flemington Community Partnership Board (FCP).

Foodies and fun-lovers will enjoy live bands, kids’ activities such as photos with fire trucks, crafts and face painting, vegetable stands, and artisan vendors on Stangl Road (closed to car traffic).

Denise Torbik, a festival organizer from the Flemington Fire Department, added, “CT&B Fest is the very best representation of all things New Jersey. At what other event can you get such an abundance of sweet Jersey corn, juicy fresh tomatoes, and a variety of local NJ craft beers?”

“It’s been really sad not being able to come together as a community for this well-loved event over the past few years,” said Jeremy Long, Flemington Borough Council president and liaison to the FCP.

Festival admission and parking are free. Take Route 12 to the parking lot entrance near Liberty Village and enter Stangl Road on foot from the south end by the Polo Outlet and Lone Eagle Brewing. The rain date for the event is Sunday, Aug. 14.

ShopRite of Hunterdon County and the NPP Program are sponsors of the festival. For event details, event schedule, and more information about participating businesses. visit loveflemington.com or follow on Facebook.
