Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites hosts 30th annual house and garden tour

Posted

Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites (HBMS) Rooms to View House & Garden Tour draws inspiration from three decades of tours for a 30th anniversary event that highlights the history, beauty and innovation of homes and gardens in the Lehigh Valley.

The weekend kicks off with the Preview Party from 6 to 9 p.m. June 10, at the home of John and Susan Blair.

Guests can enjoy the outdoor oasis at the rear of the house, including an outdoor kitchen, a saltwater pool with fountains, a spa, and a spacious pool house, all alongside a custom-made golfing green. Festivities include heavy hors d’oeuvres and live music.

On Saturday, June 11, House & Garden Tour guests will be able to visit myriad gardens and interiors throughout the Lehigh Valley from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Private gardens include The Elias Garden, where visitors can partake in English tea and scones while children search a maze for hidden surprises.

Tour guests also will have the opportunity to step into homes of historical significance, including the historic Archibald Johnston Mansion and the accompanying Keeper of the Keys Estate. Updated and contemporary interiors also will be on view.

After the tour, visitors are invited to enjoy wine and cheese in the gardens at the Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts and visit “A Glimpse Through Glass.”

HBMS will provide all tour guests with access to the online collection of videos from Rooms to View tours from 2020 and 2021.

Tickets for the Preview Party and the House & Garden tour are $125; tickets for the House & Garden tour only are $30 for HBMS members and $40 for non-members, on the HBMS website. All proceeds help Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites to maintain 20 historic landmarks in Bethlehem.
